Korbalagae Kuawogai is an international educator (former Pre-k to Grade 1 teacher) as well as a curriculum developer of over 18 years.
While teaching around the world she noticed that one thing that divided her students who did very well from those who struggled – their reading skills.
Though she designed individual learning plans and worked with children at school, she realized that those children who took off and excelled were those whose parents also worked with them at home to complement what was happening in the classroom. These children had an edge because they had a full team of adults on their side!
She saw that parents who took on her teaching recommendations at home were amazed how much their children loved learning to read. Today she shares reading strategies with parents (and teachers), provides reading resources and continues to consult with school systems to improve reading outcomes both in the classroom and at home.
